Born from Pain, Built with Purpose
Ruqayya Foundation is more than just an organization—it is a mission driven by deep personal experience, empathy, and an unshakable commitment to protect, uplift, and empower orphans and widows.
Founded by Dr. Abdussalam Omar, his siblings, and their mother, Ruqayya Foundation is a tribute to the resilience of their own journey. Losing their father at a young age, as early as six, they lived the life of orphans, while their mother endured the struggles of widowhood. They know the silent pain, the loneliness, the hardships, and the vulnerability that come with losing a guiding hand.
With this firsthand experience, they built Ruqayya Foundation—a beacon of hope, ensuring that no orphan or widow suffers alone, remains unprotected, or is deprived of opportunities.

Education & Scholarships for Orphan Kids
We ensure that orphans receive quality education, while widows are empowered with vocational training to break the cycle of poverty.
Career Guidance, Coaching & Mentorship (Free for Orphans & Widows)
Without parental support, many orphans are vulnerable to wrong influences. We provide life coaching, career counseling, and moral guidance to set them on the right path.
Livelihood Support for Widows
We help widows rebuild their lives by providing skills training, microfinance opportunities, and sustainable income programs so they can support themselves and their children.
Shelter & Basic Needs
No orphan or widow should be left without a safe home, clothing, and basic necessities. We provide housing, daily essentials, and emotional support to those in need.
Inclusive Development & Leadership Training
We don’t just help them survive—we help them thrive! Through leadership programs, self-confidence building, and social integration, we bring orphans and widows into the mainstream of society as independent, purpose-driven individuals.
Protection from Exploitation
Without guidance, orphans can be misled into crime or exploited due to poverty. Society often judges them for wrong deeds rather than guiding them. We step in to protect, mentor, and uplift them so they grow with integrity and dignity.
